Why see a Dental Hygienist?

Teeth have a huge impact on how you feel about yourself.

When you don’t feel good about your teeth, or you’re worried your breath stinks, it affects the way you communicate with people and your confidence in the world.

We love seeing the difference in our patients when they feel proud of their mouth and know how to look after it.

As dental hygienist’s we are specifically focused on preventing and treating gum disease. We don’t fix holes or diagnose decay.

We help you keep your teeth. Your gums are the foundation of your mouth. They hold the teeth in, so if you want to keep your own natural teeth, you have to look after your gums.

Do nothing and eventually the problem takes care of itself. Not in a good way. That usually will mean tooth loss over time. The face shape changes as your nose and chin area shrinks with loss of teeth. Your taste changes, the food you can eat changes. Your whole life changes.

Our practice goal is to help prevent and educate. We recommend you see your dentist at least once a year for a tooth exam.

We work with your dentist so we’re both on the same path for your treatment.

Prevention and education is a big part of what we do.

There is a huge need to raise awareness about the effects of oral health on our bodies.

A lot of us don’t go to a dentist or hygienist. We never saw our parents flossing their teeth so we’re not in the habit of doing it ourselves.

Many people don’t even know they’ve got gum disease and that’s the group we really want to reach.

It would be great if people in their 20’s came in before things started changing and getting expensive.

When you maintain your mouth with regular dental care, you spend less money in the long term. It’s much better than waiting until things fall to bits and having to repair them.

If you’ve got your own natural teeth why not make them shine?
